Introduction:
ASDA is the one of the largest retail chains in the UK. In the present research study, corporate objectives and structure as well as the business model of the ASDA are described in detail. Apart from this, in the report SWOT, PESTLE and Porter 5 five forces model is also explained in detail (Blanco-Callejo, and de Pablos-Heredero, 2019). Varied knowledge management, information systems are evaluated and the best one is selected for the company. Further, the benefits of the KMIS for the ASDA are explained in the report. Corporate objective:
ASDA aim is to provide quality products at cheaper rate to the people. Its objective is to reduce packaging of the products to the maximum possible extent. Packaging that is done in the business to great extent affect the natural environment and due to this reason ASDA aimed at reducing packaging of the product (Chiguvi, 2020). Some of the major objectives of the ASDA are given below.
• To increase customers base by 10% in the present year.
• To elevate average customer order value to £100.
Business Overview:
ASDA is one of the largest retail chains in the UK. The company today have 1, 45,000 employees in its business. Every week company serves 18 million customers in its business. ASDA has range of formats in its business, namely supercenters, superstores, supermarkets, ASDA living and Petrol filling stations. Petrol filling stations, ASDA living, and others are three categories in which entire format can be classified. Petrol stations provide pay at the pump, pay at the kiosk and small convince store service where customers can purchase any sort of edible item while travelling with friends and relatives.
Thus, it can be said that to approach customers in proper manner and to penetrate in-depth ASDA follow multiple formats in its business (Hingley, Lindgreen, and Grant, 2015). ASDA mainly deals in the grocery and clothing products. ASDA market share remains 14% in the UK market. The Tesco market share is 30%, the Sainsbury market share is 15%, and ASDA market share is 14%. This reflects that ASDA is in third position in the UK retail sector. ASDA to compete with its rivals like Tesco is following competitive price policy in its business. Under this it is selling products at low or similar price that of Tesco and Sainsbury.
Conclusion:
On the basis of the above discussion it is concluded that by using BI system firm can achieve its target in the business. The BI system assists firms to find out areas where they are not performing well and need lots of improvements. By viewing trends on Microsoft BI managers can share their opinion, experience and knowledge with each other. This promotes knowledge management at the workplace and lead to making of better decisions in the business. There is huge significance of the BI system for the ASDA as it assist firm to improve its business efficiency.
